1970 Datsun 240Z — advertised price jumps thousands at the desk

The advertised used-car price was competitive, but the worksheet includes protection packages, tracking equipment and other preinstalled items that were not obvious online. How do you compare the real OTD price across dealers? I am in San Antonio. Interested in real owner experience more than guesses.

Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. Call your insurer in San Antonio before you fall in love with the 1970 Datsun 240Z. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “advertised price jumps thousands at the desk,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. If GAP is bundled I'm making them unbundle it.

If I were shopping this, two 1970 Datsun 240Z quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. That's the part that actually changes the decision. This is from a 1970 Datsun 240Z in San Antonio. Just my two cents from doing this recently. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

I would not stare at the monthly. Two 1970 Datsun 240Z quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Then the comparison gets honest. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. Calling insurance in the morning before I reply to the desk.

I hear you, though I'd still want a second check. Call your insurer in San Antonio before you fall in love with the 1970 Datsun 240Z. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. I'll post OTD once I have two apples-to-apples sheets.
