1993 Mazda RX-7 — engine fits but driveline angle is not ideal — second opinion before I spend money

This started as a small annoyance and I finally decided to track it down. Mock-up clears the steering and firewall, but getting the transmission output lined up perfectly would require moving the engine. How much should packaging be compromised to improve driveline geometry?

Don't overfit one forum story to your car. If it still isn't clear on the 1993 Mazda RX-7, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. That's where I'd start. This is from a 1993 Mazda RX-7 in Cleveland. No need to make it theatrical. A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Yes, with one caveat: On the 1993 Mazda RX-7 in Cleveland, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. Then you'll know the next fork. On “7 — engine fits but driveline angle,” that was the fork that mattered for me. That's the sequence I'd use. This is the filter I use when the thread starts repeating itself. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 1993 Mazda RX-7 before a big repair or a big spend. That's where I'd start. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. Doing the boring step first on purpose.
