1993 Mazda RX-7 Touring — need advice: Used truck versus new compact pickup

Same money buys an older full-size truck with capability I may never use or a newer compact truck with better fuel economy and warranty. Anyone make this switch and regret the smaller truck? Appreciate any ideas on what to check first.

Owner notes beat generic advice here. On the 1993 Mazda RX-7 in New York, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. That's where I'd start. On “7 touring — need advice: used truck,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

That's a good start, but I wouldn't stop there. If it still isn't clear on the 1993 Mazda RX-7, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. Then you'll know the next fork. Any freeze-frame data saved? That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Write down what you already tried. A second data point from another 1993 Mazda RX-7 owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. I'd do that before spending real money. This is from a 1993 Mazda RX-7 in New York. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.
