2004 Honda S2000 — blower works on some speeds but not others

Cabin fan works normally on certain settings and then cuts out or changes speed unpredictably on others. Before replacing the blower motor, what should be checked in the resistor/controller circuit? I would rather test this logically than replace parts.

Ask what changed right before it started. Capture voltage while the 2004 Honda S2000 is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. Save the big job until that test fails. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. Heat soak after errands is the other window.

Agree — and I'd add this: Move a coil or plug on the 2004 Honda S2000 if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. Save the big job until that test fails. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. Only after sitting overnight so far.

I wouldn't throw parts yet. Write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2004 Honda S2000 does it — then decide on parts. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. Just my two cents from doing this recently. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Agree — and I'd add this: Loaded-suspension checks on the 2004 Honda S2000 catch play that a wheels-hanging inspection misses. Save the big job until that test fails. On “blower works on some speeds but not,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2004 Honda S2000, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. That's the branch I'd chase this week. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. Two 2004 Honda S2000s can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. This is from a 2004 Honda S2000 in Cleveland. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. Video is ugly but it shows the hesitation.
