2004 Toyota Land Cruiser — buying a car 1,200 miles away without seeing it

2004 Toyota Land Cruiser, about 151,500 miles. A hard-to-find spec is several states away. Dealer has provided video and history, but I have not seen it in person. What is the best remote-buy checklist before sending money? I am in Detroit.

If I were shopping this, if they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2004 Toyota Land Cruiser price probably got worse. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Have you gotten a second quote in writing? Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. A written buyer’s order on the 2004 Toyota Land Cruiser is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” If they balk, that's your answer. On “buying a car 1,200 miles away without,” that was the fork that mattered for me. That's the sequence I'd use. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. I screenshotted the quote for later.

Treat this like a math problem, not a vibe. Call your insurer in Detroit before you fall in love with the 2004 Toyota Land Cruiser. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. Just my two cents from doing this recently. Going to re-read the worksheet tonight.

I would not stare at the monthly. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2004 Toyota Land Cruiser and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.
