2006 Mazda RX-8 — dealer cannot reproduce an intermittent warning

2006 Mazda RX-8 Sport, about 157,000 miles. I have brought the car in twice for the same intermittent warning and both visits ended with could-not-reproduce. I have video and timestamps. What is the best way to build a useful paper trail?

I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2006 Mazda RX-8 before a big repair or a big spend. That's where I'd start. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. I'll update if anything new shows up.

Same neighborhood, different next step: On the 2006 Mazda RX-8 in Nationwide, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. Then you'll know the next fork. On “8 — dealer cannot reproduce an intermittent,” that was the fork that mattered for me. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

Useful. I'll report back after I verify that on my 2006 Mazda RX-8. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Don't overfit one forum story to your car. If it still isn't clear on the 2006 Mazda RX-8, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. That's where I'd start. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Write down what you already tried. A second data point from another 2006 Mazda RX-8 owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. Then you'll know the next fork. This is from a 2006 Mazda RX-8 in Nationwide with 157,000 miles. Time, temperature, and whether it's in gear are the notes that actually help a shop. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

I parked the 2006 Mazda RX-8 and wrote down what I already tested so I'm not repeating myself. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Useful. I'll report back after I verify that on my 2006 Mazda RX-8. Doing the boring step first on purpose.
