2008 Honda Accord — dealer lowered price but added accessories back in

UsedCarMom938Community StarterFeb 17, 20262008 Honda Accord EX-LNew York
2008 Honda Accord EX-L, about 130,000 miles. We agreed on a vehicle price, then the worksheet included dealer-installed products I did not ask for. The total is now higher than before. What is the cleanest way to negotiate from an out-the-door number?

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. Call your insurer in New York before you fall in love with the 2008 Honda Accord. Do that before you talk monthly again. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. PPI guy I use is booked until next week, so I'm waiting.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. Two 2008 Honda Accord quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Then the comparison gets honest. This is from a 2008 Honda Accord in New York with 130,000 miles. That's the whole play. If the VIN lookup is clean I'm still doing PPI.

Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. Ask for out-the-door on the 2008 Honda Accord with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “dealer lowered price but added accessories back,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. I asked for the buyer’s order in email, not a text.

Walk if they won't put it on a buyer’s order. In New York, insurance quotes flipped a 2008 Honda Accord comparison for me more than the sale price did. Then the comparison gets honest. Have you gotten a second quote in writing? I've seen both outcomes, which is why I'd test instead of assume. Going to compare one more dealer before I decide.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. A written buyer’s order on the 2008 Honda Accord is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. Sleeping on the number either way.
