2013 Toyota Prius — blower works on some speeds but not others

Cabin fan works normally on certain settings and then cuts out or changes speed unpredictably on others. Before replacing the blower motor, what should be checked in the resistor/controller circuit?

Cleared nothing. I want service to see the alert on the 2013 Toyota Prius first. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

Ask what changed right before it started. Write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2013 Toyota Prius does it — then decide on parts. That's the branch I'd chase this week. Do that first. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Intermittent stuff lies if you only catch it once. Capture voltage while the 2013 Toyota Prius is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. On “blower works on some speeds but not,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. I refuse to clear codes until someone else sees them.

Quick add on that: Loaded-suspension checks on the 2013 Toyota Prius catch play that a wheels-hanging inspection misses. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. I'll update if anything new shows up.

I wouldn't throw parts yet. Loaded-suspension checks on the 2013 Toyota Prius catch play that a wheels-hanging inspection misses. That's the branch I'd chase this week. This is from a 2013 Toyota Prius in Charlotte. Take it or leave it — that's what I'd do. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

I wouldn't throw parts yet. Get a real battery/charging test on the 2013 Toyota Prius, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. Did the worksheet show tax yet? Doing the boring step first on purpose.

OP update: scanned the 2013 Toyota Prius again and still only have the one pending code, no new lights. Only after sitting overnight so far.

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. Move a coil or plug on the 2013 Toyota Prius if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. Save the big job until that test fails. That's the whole play. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2013 Toyota Prius, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. Save the big job until that test fails. I went back under the 2013 Toyota Prius and it only happens after a heat soak, not on a cold start. Not interested in a five-hour wait for a shrug.
