2018 Honda Civic — advertised price jumps thousands at the desk

The advertised used-car price was competitive, but the worksheet includes protection packages, tracking equipment and other preinstalled items that were not obvious online. How do you compare the real OTD price across dealers? I am trying to get the facts straight before spending money. I am trying not to assume the first explanation I see online.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2018 Honda Civic so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. If they balk, that's your answer. This is from a 2018 Honda Civic in North Jersey. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. PPI guy I use is booked until next week, so I'm waiting.

Coming back with numbers — insurance in North Jersey changed the 2018 Honda Civic comparison more than the sale price did. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2018 Honda Civic so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “advertised price jumps thousands at the desk,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Any freeze-frame data saved? If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.
