2019 Mazda Mazda3 — 120k one-owner car versus 70k with thin history

2019 Mazda Mazda3 Preferred, about 85,000 miles. The higher-mileage car has detailed records and consistent ownership; the lower-mileage example has sparse history. If both inspect well, how much weight do you put on maintenance history versus odometer?

I'd treat this like cash with a paper trail. Independent PPI on the 2019 Mazda Mazda3 is cheap insurance versus a seller who “already had a friend look at it.” That's where I'd start. On “120k one-owner car versus 70k with thin,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Any freeze-frame data saved? This is the filter I use when the thread starts repeating itself. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

Title status is the whole conversation. Bill of sale, VIN, odometer, and names matching the title — I'd want all four on the 2019 Mazda Mazda3. I'd do that before spending real money. This is from a 2019 Mazda Mazda3 in Central Jersey with 85,000 miles. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. I'll post OTD once I have two apples-to-apples sheets.
