2019 Mazda Mazda3 — pPI found $1,800 of upcoming work

This started as a small annoyance and I finally decided to track it down. Inspection found several real maintenance items but nothing catastrophic. I still like the car. Do you treat the shop estimate as a dollar-for-dollar negotiation point or just decide whether the asking price still makes sense? I am in Dallas.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2019 Mazda Mazda3 so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. If they balk, that's your answer. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. PPI guy I use is booked until next week, so I'm waiting.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2019 Mazda Mazda3 and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. Calling insurance in the morning before I reply to the desk.

OP update: I got two written quotes on the 2019 Mazda Mazda3 and the out-the-door gap is bigger than the ads made it look. I screenshotted the quote for later.

Fair point. Counterpoint: I would not wire money until I've seen the 2019 Mazda Mazda3 and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. I've seen both outcomes, which is why I'd test instead of assume. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. Call your insurer in Dallas before you fall in love with the 2019 Mazda Mazda3. Do that before you talk monthly again. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. This is the version I'd tell a friend.
