2019 Ram 2500 — 120k one-owner car versus 70k with thin history

The higher-mileage car has detailed records and consistent ownership; the lower-mileage example has sparse history. If both inspect well, how much weight do you put on maintenance history versus odometer? I am in Bay Area.

I'd treat this like cash with a paper trail. If the 2019 Ram 2500 still shows a lien, coordinate payoff with the lender before any cash changes hands. I'd do that before spending real money. On “120k one-owner car versus 70k with thin,” that was the fork that mattered for me. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. If GAP is bundled I'm making them unbundle it.

Same neighborhood, different next step: Meet at a bank or dealer title office for the 2019 Ram 2500, not a parking lot at night. I'd do that before spending real money. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. I'll post OTD once I have two apples-to-apples sheets.

Private-party deals fail on paperwork, not vibes. Independent PPI on the 2019 Ram 2500 is cheap insurance versus a seller who “already had a friend look at it.” That's where I'd start. This is from a 2019 Ram 2500 in Bay Area. Did the worksheet show tax yet? Doc fee is the line I'm watching.

Don't get cute with the meetup or the payment. A rushed deposit before you can inspect the 2019 Ram 2500 is enough reason to walk. Then you'll know the next fork. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.
