2020 Toyota Tundra — safest way to handle a test drive with a stranger

PistonDIYer475Community StarterJul 18, 20262020 Toyota Tundra SR5Columbus
I am selling privately for the first time. I want serious buyers to drive the car but do not want to be careless with keys, insurance, license info or where we meet. What is a sensible process? I am in Columbus. I am trying not to assume the first explanation I see online.

Title status is the whole conversation. A rushed deposit before you can inspect the 2020 Toyota Tundra is enough reason to walk. That's where I'd start. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

Title status is the whole conversation. Independent PPI on the 2020 Toyota Tundra is cheap insurance versus a seller who “already had a friend look at it.” I'd do that before spending real money. Have you gotten a second quote in writing? Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. Sleeping on the number either way.

Don't get cute with the meetup or the payment. Meet at a bank or dealer title office for the 2020 Toyota Tundra, not a parking lot at night. Then you'll know the next fork. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. Make the next action something you can finish this week. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

I'd treat this like cash with a paper trail. Bill of sale, VIN, odometer, and names matching the title — I'd want all four on the 2020 Toyota Tundra. I'd do that before spending real money. On “safest way to handle a test drive,” that was the fork that mattered for me. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. If GAP is bundled I'm making them unbundle it.

Private-party deals fail on paperwork, not vibes. Meet at a bank or dealer title office for the 2020 Toyota Tundra, not a parking lot at night. Then you'll know the next fork. This is from a 2020 Toyota Tundra in Columbus. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. If they only talk monthly I'm walking.
