2021 Honda CR-V — driver seat clicks during left-right transitions

LongMilesDriver187Community StarterJul 3, 20262021 Honda CR-V EX-LMiami
2021 Honda CR-V EX-L, about 99,500 miles. I can feel a small click through the seat base in corners. Mounting bolts appear tight and power functions work. How do you isolate rail play versus the frame or motor mechanism?

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. Write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2021 Honda CR-V does it — then decide on parts. That's the branch I'd chase this week. This is from a 2021 Honda CR-V in Miami with 99,500 miles. Any freeze-frame data saved? I already checked the easy fluid levels.

That's a good start, but I wouldn't stop there. Move a coil or plug on the 2021 Honda CR-V if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. Do that first. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. If it repeats twice more I'll book time.

I went back under the 2021 Honda CR-V and it only happens after a heat soak, not on a cold start. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

If it were in my driveway, a pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2021 Honda CR-V is losing coolant with no puddle. Save the big job until that test fails. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. No warning lights, which is why I'm documenting it.

Asking because it changes the advice: Capture voltage while the 2021 Honda CR-V is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. Next check is the cheap one I can do in a driveway.

Checked the easy stuff on the 2021 Honda CR-V and found one clue worth chasing before I book a shop. Not interested in a five-hour wait for a shrug.

Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' I'll update if anything new shows up.

I'd push back a little: Capture voltage while the 2021 Honda CR-V is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. This is from a 2021 Honda CR-V in Miami with 99,500 miles. No need to make it theatrical. I already checked the easy fluid levels.

Log the conditions before you spend. A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2021 Honda CR-V is losing coolant with no puddle. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. On “v — driver seat clicks during left-right,” that was the fork that mattered for me. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. Heat soak after errands is the other window.

Start with the test that can prove you wrong. Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2021 Honda CR-V and see if the fault moves. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. This is from a 2021 Honda CR-V in Miami with 99,500 miles. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. Trying not to diagnose from the couch.

I wouldn't throw parts yet. Get a real battery/charging test on the 2021 Honda CR-V, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. Stop there until you know. Worth doing even if the car feels fine right now. I'll update if anything new shows up.

If it were in my driveway, capture voltage while the 2021 Honda CR-V is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. That's the sequence I'd use. I'll poke at it this weekend.

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. Two 2021 Honda CR-Vs can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. This is from a 2021 Honda CR-V in Miami with 99,500 miles. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. I'd rather be boring and correct. Not driving it hard until I know more.

Same neighborhood, different next step: Move a coil or plug on the 2021 Honda CR-V if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. On “v — driver seat clicks during left-right,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2021 Honda CR-V in Miami with 99,500 miles. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. If it repeats twice more I'll book time.

It did v — driver seat clicks during left-right twice this week, both times after sitting. No change in mileage feel. Not driving it hard until I know more.

Intermittent stuff lies if you only catch it once. Move a coil or plug on the 2021 Honda CR-V if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. On “v — driver seat clicks during left-right,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

I hear you, though I'd still want a second check. Write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2021 Honda CR-V does it — then decide on parts. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. Have you gotten a second quote in writing? This is the version I'd tell a friend.

I wouldn't throw parts yet. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2021 Honda CR-V, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. I've seen both outcomes, which is why I'd test instead of assume. Next check is the cheap one I can do in a driveway.
