2021 Mazda CX-5 — windshield replaced — does camera calibration matter?

A new windshield is installed and there is no dash warning, but the shop recommends camera calibration. If the manufacturer procedure calls for it, would you do it even when lane-assist functions appear normal?

I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2021 Mazda CX-5 before a big repair or a big spend. I'd do that before spending real money. This is from a 2021 Mazda CX-5 in Texas. Just my two cents from doing this recently. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Write down what you already tried. A second data point from another 2021 Mazda CX-5 owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. I'd do that before spending real money. This is from a 2021 Mazda CX-5 in Texas. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Following up on 5 — windshield replaced — does camera: still happening, but I have better notes now. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2021 Mazda CX-5 before a big repair or a big spend. That's where I'd start. This is from a 2021 Mazda CX-5 in Texas. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. I'll update if anything new shows up.

Don't overfit one forum story to your car. If it still isn't clear on the 2021 Mazda CX-5, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. Then you'll know the next fork. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Owner notes beat generic advice here. On the 2021 Mazda CX-5 in Texas, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. I'd do that before spending real money. On “5 — windshield replaced — does camera,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

Not convinced that's the whole story. If it still isn't clear on the 2021 Mazda CX-5, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. That's where I'd start. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.
