2021 Toyota Highlander — first used-oil analysis: what matters?

I am thinking about sending an oil sample to establish a baseline. For a normal street engine, which trends are actually useful over time and which one-off numbers cause unnecessary panic? If I figure it out I will update the thread. What would you check next?

I wouldn't throw parts yet. Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2021 Toyota Highlander and see if the fault moves. Save the big job until that test fails. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

Same neighborhood, different next step: Two 2021 Toyota Highlanders can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. On “first used-oil analysis: what matters,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Do that first. Happens in gear, not in park, for what that's worth.
