2022 Lexus GX — windshield replaced — does camera calibration matter?

CamberFanCommunity StarterApr 23, 20262022 Lexus GX 460Queens
2022 Lexus GX 460, about 65,500 miles. A new windshield is installed and there is no dash warning, but the shop recommends camera calibration. If the manufacturer procedure calls for it, would you do it even when lane-assist functions appear normal?

Write down what you already tried. A second data point from another 2022 Lexus GX owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. I'd do that before spending real money. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Don't overfit one forum story to your car. If it still isn't clear on the 2022 Lexus GX, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. Then you'll know the next fork. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Owner notes beat generic advice here. On the 2022 Lexus GX in Queens, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. Then you'll know the next fork. On “windshield replaced — does camera calibration matter,” that was the fork that mattered for me. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. Make the next action something you can finish this week. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Fair point. Counterpoint: Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2022 Lexus GX before a big repair or a big spend. That's where I'd start. Time, temperature, and whether it's in gear are the notes that actually help a shop. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2022 Lexus GX before a big repair or a big spend. That's where I'd start. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.

This is from a 2022 Lexus GX in Queens with 65,500 miles. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

I parked the 2022 Lexus GX and wrote down what I already tested so I'm not repeating myself. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.
