2022 Toyota RAV4 — preventive cleaning of the hybrid battery cooling fan — Baltimore owner

2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid XSE, about 35,000 miles. The car carries pets and sees dusty conditions. Is inspecting or cleaning the battery cooling intake/fan a reasonable preventive job when the service procedure allows it? I would rather test this logically than replace parts.

Owner notes beat generic advice here. On the 2022 Toyota RAV4 in Baltimore, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. Then you'll know the next fork. On “preventive cleaning of the hybrid battery cooling,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Take it or leave it — that's what I'd do. That's my plan before I call anyone.

This is from a 2022 Toyota RAV4 in Baltimore with 35,000 miles. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2022 Toyota RAV4 before a big repair or a big spend. That's where I'd start. Just my two cents from doing this recently. Your commute and mine probably aren't the same, but the test still applies. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Not convinced that's the whole story. If it still isn't clear on the 2022 Toyota RAV4, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. I'd do that before spending real money. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. If the story changes I'll post the new data.
