2024 Acura MDX — would you buy an ex-rental car at the right price?

TowCollectorCommunity StarterJun 17, 20262024 Acura MDX Type SHouston
2024 Acura MDX Type S, about 29,500 miles. A former rental is cheaper than privately owned examples and has frequent service records. Cosmetics show normal wear. What extra inspection points matter because of rental use?

Get the messy numbers in writing first. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2024 Acura MDX numbers without them. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “would you buy an ex-rental car at,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Just my two cents from doing this recently. If they get vague again I'm shopping the deal elsewhere.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2024 Acura MDX so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. If they balk, that's your answer. On “would you buy an ex-rental car at,” that was the fork that mattered for me. That's the sequence I'd use. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. Two 2024 Acura MDX quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Take it or leave it — that's what I'd do. Doc fee is the line I'm watching.

If I were shopping this, if they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2024 Acura MDX price probably got worse. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Take it or leave it — that's what I'd do. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2024 Acura MDX numbers without them. Do that before you talk monthly again. That's the sequence I'd use. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. Call your insurer in Houston before you fall in love with the 2024 Acura MDX. Do that before you talk monthly again. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. Going to re-read the worksheet tonight.

Quick add on that: GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2024 Acura MDX numbers without them. If they balk, that's your answer. That's the sequence I'd use. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. In Houston, insurance quotes flipped a 2024 Acura MDX comparison for me more than the sale price did. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Stop there until you know. A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

That's a good start, but I wouldn't stop there. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2024 Acura MDX price probably got worse. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. This is from a 2024 Acura MDX in Houston with 29,500 miles. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Update from me: I finally have sale price, fees, and trade on separate lines for the 2024 Acura MDX. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.
