2024 Lexus RX 350h — need advice: Used truck versus new compact pickup

RoadPilotCommunity StarterMar 29, 20262024 Lexus RX 350hMichigan
2024 Lexus RX 350h, about 4,800 miles. Same money buys an older full-size truck with capability I may never use or a newer compact truck with better fuel economy and warranty. Anyone make this switch and regret the smaller truck? If I fix it I'll come back and update the thread.

Write down what you already tried. A second data point from another 2024 Lexus RX owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. That's where I'd start. This is from a 2024 Lexus RX in Michigan with 4,800 miles. Any freeze-frame data saved? I'd rather be boring and correct. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

Fair point. Counterpoint: If it still isn't clear on the 2024 Lexus RX, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. Then you'll know the next fork. This is from a 2024 Lexus RX in Michigan with 4,800 miles. Do that first. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Owner notes beat generic advice here. On the 2024 Lexus RX in Michigan, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. Then you'll know the next fork. On “need advice: used truck versus new compact,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. That's my plan before I call anyone.

I'd push back a little: If it still isn't clear on the 2024 Lexus RX, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. That's where I'd start. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Thanks — that narrowed it. I'm going to try the simpler check on the 2024 Lexus RX first. I'll update if anything new shows up.

On “need advice: used truck versus new compact,” that was the fork that mattered for me. That's the whole play. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

Same neighborhood, different next step: A second data point from another 2024 Lexus RX owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. That's where I'd start. Do that first. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2024 Lexus RX before a big repair or a big spend. That's where I'd start. This is from a 2024 Lexus RX in Michigan with 4,800 miles. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.
