2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata Club — miata soft-top clicking over small bumps

2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata Club, about 4,800 miles. Getting a repetitive click from around the roof/header area on rough pavement. Top seals look okay and it doesn't leak. Has anyone isolated a trim/latch/felt contact noise like this without replacing parts? I'm in Raleigh. What am I missing?

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. Two 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miatas can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. This is from a 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata in Raleigh with 4,800 miles. Monthly payment math is how wallets disappear. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

That's a good start, but I wouldn't stop there. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. This is from a 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata in Raleigh with 4,800 miles. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. Your commute and mine probably aren't the same, but the test still applies. Next check is the cheap one I can do in a driveway.

This is usually cheaper to test than to guess. A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata is losing coolant with no puddle. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. Heat soak after errands is the other window.
