2024 Ram 1500 — alternator whine after adding amplifier and DSP

BatteryLearner102Community StarterJun 15, 20262024 Ram 1500 LimitedRaleigh
2024 Ram 1500 Limited, about 9,500 miles. System is quiet with the engine off, but a high-pitched whine follows RPM once running. Grounds look okay. What is the fastest isolation order for power, signal cables, processor and amplifier?

Don't overfit one forum story to your car. If it still isn't clear on the 2024 Ram 1500, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. Then you'll know the next fork. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Owner notes beat generic advice here. On the 2024 Ram 1500 in Raleigh, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. I'd do that before spending real money. On “alternator whine after adding amplifier and dsp,” that was the fork that mattered for me. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2024 Ram 1500 before a big repair or a big spend. That's where I'd start. Any freeze-frame data saved? This is me being the wet blanket on purpose.
