2024 Ram 1500 Limited — anyone else: DPF regens seem more frequent lately

GarageBuyer29Community StarterMay 9, 20262024 Ram 1500 LimitedDenver / Front Range
Truck is doing more short trips lately and I feel like active regens are happening much more often. No codes. Is there a good way to confirm soot load/regeneration frequency with a scan tool before assuming something is wrong? I'd rather test this logically than start replacing parts. Ambient temp was about 92°F when I noticed it.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2024 Ram 1500 numbers without them. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “anyone else: dpf regens seem more frequent,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Have you gotten a second quote in writing? This is the filter I use when the thread starts repeating itself. I screenshotted the quote for later.

If I were shopping this, in Denver / Front Range, insurance quotes flipped a 2024 Ram 1500 comparison for me more than the sale price did. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Do that first. Doc fee is the line I'm watching.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. If one piece looks too good on the 2024 Ram 1500, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. Calling insurance in the morning before I reply to the desk.

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2024 Ram 1500 price probably got worse. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. I'll update if anything new shows up.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. Ask for out-the-door on the 2024 Ram 1500 with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. Do that before you talk monthly again. Stop there until you know. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. Two 2024 Ram 1500 quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Then the comparison gets honest. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. Calling insurance in the morning before I reply to the desk.
