2024 Toyota Tacoma — factory order status has not moved in weeks

CanyonSeller690Community StarterMar 22, 20262024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-RoadFlorida
Dealer gave me an order/reference number but the status has been unchanged for weeks. For people who have ordered cars, what updates are meaningful versus normal waiting between milestones?

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. In Florida, insurance quotes flipped a 2024 Toyota Tacoma comparison for me more than the sale price did. Then the comparison gets honest. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. I'll update if anything new shows up.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2024 Toyota Tacoma so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. Call your insurer in Florida before you fall in love with the 2024 Toyota Tacoma. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “factory order status has not moved in,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. I screenshotted the quote for later.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2024 Toyota Tacoma and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. Make the next action something you can finish this week. If the title is messy I'm out, full stop.

I would not stare at the monthly. In Florida, insurance quotes flipped a 2024 Toyota Tacoma comparison for me more than the sale price did. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. This is from a 2024 Toyota Tacoma in Florida. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

OP here. Still looking, but I'm waiting on inspection notes before I send money on the 2024 Toyota Tacoma. I'll update if anything new shows up.

Quick add on that: Ask for out-the-door on the 2024 Toyota Tacoma with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. Do that before you talk monthly again. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. PPI guy I use is booked until next week, so I'm waiting.

I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. Ask for out-the-door on the 2024 Toyota Tacoma with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. If they balk, that's your answer. I asked about factory order status has not moved in again and they still won't put GAP/add-ons on their own lines. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

Same neighborhood, different next step: A written buyer’s order on the 2024 Toyota Tacoma is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. I'd rather be boring and correct. Sleeping on the number either way.

Treat this like a math problem, not a vibe. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2024 Toyota Tacoma so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. Do that before you talk monthly again. Do that first. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.
