2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road — new model reveal: what matters beyond the headline specs?

ApexOwnerCommunity StarterJul 28, 20262024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-RoadOhio
2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road, about 14,500 miles. A new model just dropped and the headline numbers look good, but I'm more interested in curb weight, wheel/tire sizes, real rear-seat room, charging/fueling, repairability and what features are locked behind packages. I'm in Ohio. Any data points from owners would help.

Low-voltage gremlins will strand you even with a full pack. Try a second charger before blaming the 2024 Toyota Tacoma — site sharing and pack temp change the curve a lot. That's where I'd start. Stop there until you know. I already checked the easy fluid levels.

Don't clear the alert just to make the screen pretty. Leave the alerts on the 2024 Toyota Tacoma so service can see what you saw. Then you'll know the next fork. Was this after sitting overnight? I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. I keep a notes app thread for this now.

Charge curves lie if you don't match starting SOC and temp. Match starting SOC and battery temp if you're comparing 2024 Toyota Tacoma charge sessions. I'd do that before spending real money. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. Not driving it hard until I know more.

The universe charges extra for guessing. Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. I refuse to clear codes until someone else sees them.

Agree — and I'd add this: Leave the alerts on the 2024 Toyota Tacoma so service can see what you saw. I'd do that before spending real money. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. I'd rather be boring and correct. That's my plan before I call anyone.

I'd treat 12V warnings as a no-ignore. On the 2024 Toyota Tacoma, I'd get the 12V/DC-DC side checked even if the traction pack looks fine. Then you'll know the next fork. On “road — new model reveal: what matters,” that was the fork that mattered for me. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' Checking again after work.

Then you'll know the next fork. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. I refuse to clear codes until someone else sees them.

Charge curves lie if you don't match starting SOC and temp. Match starting SOC and battery temp if you're comparing 2024 Toyota Tacoma charge sessions. That's where I'd start. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. Heat soak after errands is the other window.

Asking because it changes the advice: Match starting SOC and battery temp if you're comparing 2024 Toyota Tacoma charge sessions. That's where I'd start. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

If it repeats twice more I'll book time.
