2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road — question: Trailer feels nervous in crosswinds

WrenchWrench31Community StarterFeb 16, 20262024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-RoadUpstate New York
Truck is within published ratings, but with a tall enclosed trailer it gets pushed around in wind more than I expected. Before changing trucks, what would you verify: tongue weight, tire pressure, hitch setup, trailer loading, suspension? Appreciate any ideas on what to check first.

Walk if they won't put it on a buyer’s order. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2024 Toyota Tacoma and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Then the comparison gets honest. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. I'll update if anything new shows up.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. Call your insurer in Upstate New York before you fall in love with the 2024 Toyota Tacoma. Do that before you talk monthly again. The universe charges extra for guessing. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2024 Toyota Tacoma so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. If they balk, that's your answer. On “road — question: trailer feels nervous in,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2024 Toyota Tacoma in Upstate New York. That's the whole play. I screenshotted the quote for later.

I would not stare at the monthly. Two 2024 Toyota Tacoma quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. That's the part that actually changes the decision. The universe charges extra for guessing. If the title is messy I'm out, full stop.

Treat this like a math problem, not a vibe. A written buyer’s order on the 2024 Toyota Tacoma is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. PPI guy I use is booked until next week, so I'm waiting.

Asking because it changes the advice: Two 2024 Toyota Tacoma quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Then the comparison gets honest. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. Calling insurance in the morning before I reply to the desk.

Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. A written buyer’s order on the 2024 Toyota Tacoma is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” Do that before you talk monthly again. On “road — question: trailer feels nervous in,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Monthly payment math is how wallets disappear. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.
