2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road — used truck versus new compact pickup

V8Fan91Community StarterJul 22, 20262024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-RoadPortland
2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road, about 96,000 miles. Same money buys an older full-size truck with capability I may never use or a newer compact truck with better fuel economy and warranty. Anyone make this switch and regret the smaller truck?

I'd want competing paper, not competing stories. Call your insurer in Portland before you fall in love with the 2024 Toyota Tacoma. Do that before you talk monthly again. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2024 Toyota Tacoma numbers without them. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “road — used truck versus new compact,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Did the worksheet show tax yet? That's my plan before I call anyone.

I'd push back a little: If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2024 Toyota Tacoma price probably got worse. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Did the worksheet show tax yet? Make the next action something you can finish this week. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Walk if they won't put it on a buyer’s order. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2024 Toyota Tacoma price probably got worse. Then the comparison gets honest. Stop there until you know. If they only talk monthly I'm walking.
