2025 Honda Civic — dealer lowered price but added accessories back in

We agreed on a vehicle price, then the worksheet included dealer-installed products I did not ask for. The total is now higher than before. What is the cleanest way to negotiate from an out-the-door number? Mileage is about 24,000.

Update from me: I finally have sale price, fees, and trade on separate lines for the 2025 Honda Civic. PPI guy I use is booked until next week, so I'm waiting.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2025 Honda Civic price probably got worse. Then the comparison gets honest. That's the whole play. Make the next action something you can finish this week. If the VIN lookup is clean I'm still doing PPI.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: Call your insurer in California before you fall in love with the 2025 Honda Civic. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “dealer lowered price but added accessories back,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. I asked for the buyer’s order in email, not a text.

I would not stare at the monthly. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2025 Honda Civic price probably got worse. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. No need to make it theatrical. If the title is messy I'm out, full stop.

I hear you, though I'd still want a second check. GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2025 Honda Civic numbers without them. If they balk, that's your answer. This is from a 2025 Honda Civic in California. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. Sleeping on the number either way.

Coming back with numbers — insurance in California changed the 2025 Honda Civic comparison more than the sale price did. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

I'd push back a little: Two 2025 Honda Civic quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. That's the part that actually changes the decision. This is from a 2025 Honda Civic in California. Any freeze-frame data saved? I'll update if anything new shows up.

Quick update: a second 2025 Honda Civic quote made the first offer look ordinary. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

If I were shopping this, two 2025 Honda Civic quotes only help if both include tax, title, and the same options. Then the comparison gets honest. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. I'll update if anything new shows up.
