2025 Toyota Camry — how much room below MSRP when inventory is normal? — Brooklyn owner

2025 Toyota Camry XSE, about 24,000 miles. I am shopping a new car with several similar units sitting nearby. Dealer started at MSRP plus fees. What is the best way to use competing written quotes without turning the process into endless back-and-forth? I would rather test this logically than replace parts. What would you check next?

The trap is a pretty payment hiding a worse car price. In Brooklyn, insurance quotes flipped a 2025 Toyota Camry comparison for me more than the sale price did. Then the comparison gets honest. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. Ask for out-the-door on the 2025 Toyota Camry with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. Do that before you talk monthly again. That's the sequence I'd use. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

Same neighborhood, different next step: Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2025 Toyota Camry so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “how much room below msrp when inventory,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. If GAP is bundled I'm making them unbundle it.

Get the messy numbers in writing first. Call your insurer in Brooklyn before you fall in love with the 2025 Toyota Camry. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “how much room below msrp when inventory,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Stop there until you know. If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. That's my plan before I call anyone.
