Anyone else: CPO luxury SUV or brand-new mainstream SUV?

Budget works for either a lightly used luxury SUV or a new mainstream model with a full warranty. I'm more worried about three-to-five-year ownership cost and service downtime than the purchase price. How would you compare them? Trying to diagnose before I book a shop.

I'd treat this like cash with a paper trail. A rushed deposit before you can inspect the 2025 Toyota Camry is enough reason to walk. I'd do that before spending real money. On “cpo luxury suv or brand-new mainstream suv,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. I asked for the buyer’s order in email, not a text.

Don't get cute with the meetup or the payment. If the 2025 Toyota Camry still shows a lien, coordinate payoff with the lender before any cash changes hands. I'd do that before spending real money. This is from a 2025 Toyota Camry in Portland. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. If the title is messy I'm out, full stop.
