Fun daily that still works for one-car ownership

ColdStartTuner16Community StarterMay 8, 20262022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid XSEOrange County
2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid XSE, about 78,000 miles. I want something I enjoy on back roads but still need to commute, carry luggage and survive bad weather. Trying to avoid buying a car that only makes sense on paper. What compromises have actually mattered after a year? I'm in Orange County. Any data points from owners would help.

Owner notes beat generic advice here. On the 2022 Toyota RAV4 in Orange County, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. I'd do that before spending real money. On “car ownership,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2022 Toyota RAV4 in Orange County with 78,000 miles. Monthly payment math is how wallets disappear. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. That's my plan before I call anyone.
