Need advice: Battery keeps dying after two or three days parked

SmoothMom48Community StarterMar 7, 20262024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-RoadPennsylvania
2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road, about 118,000 miles. Battery tested okay at a parts store, but if the car sits for a weekend it sometimes won't crank. Alternator voltage looks normal while running. How would you narrow down a parasitic draw without pulling every fuse blindly? I'm in Pennsylvania. Any data points from owners would help. What am I missing?

I went back under the 2024 Toyota Tacoma and it only happens after a heat soak, not on a cold start. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Log the conditions before you spend. Two 2024 Toyota Tacomas can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. That's the branch I'd chase this week. On “battery keeps dying after two or three,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2024 Toyota Tacoma in Pennsylvania with 118,000 miles. Was this after sitting overnight? If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

If it were in my driveway, get a real battery/charging test on the 2024 Toyota Tacoma, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. I already checked the easy fluid levels.

Intermittent stuff lies if you only catch it once. Get a real battery/charging test on the 2024 Toyota Tacoma, not just resting voltage, before blaming a module. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. On “battery keeps dying after two or three,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Did the worksheet show tax yet? Doing the boring step first on purpose.

I wouldn't throw parts yet. A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2024 Toyota Tacoma is losing coolant with no puddle. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. Monthly payment math is how wallets disappear. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

Fair point. Counterpoint: Two 2024 Toyota Tacomas can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

Checking again after work.

I wouldn't throw parts yet. Loaded-suspension checks on the 2024 Toyota Tacoma catch play that a wheels-hanging inspection misses. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. Did the worksheet show tax yet? I'll update if anything new shows up.

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. Move a coil or plug on the 2024 Toyota Tacoma if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. The universe charges extra for guessing. Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. I'll update if anything new shows up.
