Need advice: Cleaning the hybrid battery cooling fan — worth doing preventively?

Car is used in a dusty environment and has pets in it regularly. I've read about battery cooling fans getting dirty. Is inspecting/cleaning it a reasonable preventive job or better left alone without symptoms? I'd rather test this logically than start replacing parts.

Owner notes beat generic advice here. On the 2013 Toyota Prius in Detroit, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. Then you'll know the next fork. On “cleaning the hybrid battery cooling fan —,” that was the fork that mattered for me. This is from a 2013 Toyota Prius in Detroit. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. That's my plan before I call anyone.

That's a good start, but I wouldn't stop there. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2013 Toyota Prius before a big repair or a big spend. That's where I'd start. Just my two cents from doing this recently. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2013 Toyota Prius before a big repair or a big spend. Then you'll know the next fork. Any freeze-frame data saved? Doing the boring step first on purpose.
