Payload sticker changed my whole truck-shopping plan

I was focused on tow rating until I started adding passengers, gear and tongue weight. Now payload looks like the real limit. How much buffer do you personally leave for a family towing setup? If I fix it I'll come back and update the thread.

Software recalls make me ask how much of 'driving' lives in a module now. On a 2023 Toyota 4Runner, I'd care more about the remedy and downtime than the press wording. I'd do that before spending real money. This is from a 2023 Toyota 4Runner in New York. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.
