Question: CPO luxury SUV or brand-new mainstream SUV?

Budget works for either a lightly used luxury SUV or a new mainstream model with a full warranty. I'm more worried about three-to-five-year ownership cost and service downtime than the purchase price. How would you compare them?

Treat this like a math problem, not a vibe. A written buyer’s order on the 2025 Toyota Camry is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

I would not stare at the monthly. In North Jersey, insurance quotes flipped a 2025 Toyota Camry comparison for me more than the sale price did. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. If the VIN lookup is clean I'm still doing PPI.

Yes, with one caveat: A written buyer’s order on the 2025 Toyota Camry is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “cpo luxury suv or brand-new mainstream suv,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Parts cannon is a personality type I try to avoid. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2025 Toyota Camry so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. Do that before you talk monthly again. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

PPI is scheduled. I'm not depositing until I see the 2025 Toyota Camry notes. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

I'd push back a little: In North Jersey, insurance quotes flipped a 2025 Toyota Camry comparison for me more than the sale price did. Then the comparison gets honest. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. Not wiring anything in the meantime.
