Used truck versus new compact pickup

2013 Toyota Prius Three, about 151,000 miles. Same money buys an older full-size truck with capability I may never use or a newer compact truck with better fuel economy and warranty. Anyone make this switch and regret the smaller truck? Appreciate any ideas on what to check first.

Following up on used truck versus new compact pickup: still happening, but I have better notes now. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Useful. I'll report back after I verify that on my 2013 Toyota Prius. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2013 Toyota Prius before a big repair or a big spend. That's where I'd start. Was this after sitting overnight? Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Write down what you already tried. A second data point from another 2013 Toyota Prius owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. Then you'll know the next fork. Was this after sitting overnight? I'd rather be boring and correct. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

Asking because it changes the advice: If it still isn't clear on the 2013 Toyota Prius, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. Then you'll know the next fork. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. Make the next action something you can finish this week. If the story changes I'll post the new data.
