How to Take Photos for a Lease Transfer Listing

Photos are your showroom on LookyLeasy. Buyers decide whether to message you based on a few thumbnails. You do not need a professional studio—just daylight, a clean car, and a checklist of angles that answer common questions. Good images increase views and reduce wasted tours for both parties.

Marketplace disclaimer: LookyLeasy is a marketplace, not a leasing company or financial advisor. Lease-transfer approval, fees, restrictions, and liability vary by leasing company. Always confirm details directly with your leasing company before moving forward.

Prepare the vehicle

Wash exterior and vacuum interior. Remove personal items, trash, and clutter from cup holders and trunk. Clear dashboard of dangling accessories that block the speedometer.

Choose a neutral background—a driveway or quiet street—not a messy garage. Overcast or early morning light reduces harsh shadows.

Essential exterior shots

Capture front three-quarter, rear three-quarter, both profiles, front and rear straight-on, wheels close-ups, and tire tread if relevant.

Photograph any dents, scratches, or curb rash separately. Disclosure builds trust and filters buyers who cannot accept wear.

Interior and technology

Shoot front seats, rear seats, cargo area, steering wheel, infotainment screen, and gauge cluster with odometer readable.

For EVs, include charge port and cable. For luxury trims, highlight premium audio badges or driver-assist sensors if visible.

Upload and order on LookyLeasy

Upload the best exterior angle as cover photo. Group similar shots; delete blurry duplicates.

Replace photos after seasonal tire swaps or new damage repairs. Your free listing can be updated anytime—keep visuals current.

FAQ

How many photos do I need?

At least eight to twelve covering exterior, interior, mileage, and flaws. More is fine if quality stays high.

Should I edit photos heavily?

Light cropping and brightness are fine. Avoid filters that misrepresent color or hide damage.

Can I use old photos from when the car was new?

Use current photos that reflect today's condition and mileage.

Do videos help?

Optional walkaround videos can supplement photos for serious buyers if you are comfortable sharing them.

What if I live in an apartment without good lighting?

Drive to an open parking area on a bright day or use soft evening light. Clean background matters more than a fancy location.
