1972 Chevrolet C10 — long crank only after filling the fuel tank

TrackCamper66Community StarterJan 24, 20261972 Chevrolet C10Brooklyn
The car starts normally most of the time, but after filling the tank it occasionally cranks longer and runs rough for a few seconds. Could EVAP/purge behavior cause this, and what would you test?

Write down what you already tried. A second data point from another 1972 Chevrolet C10 owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. I'd do that before spending real money. Was this after sitting overnight? This is the version I'd tell a friend.

Don't overfit one forum story to your car. If it still isn't clear on the 1972 Chevrolet C10, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. I'd do that before spending real money. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. Might be overthinking it, but I'd rather overthink than overspend.

I'd push back a little: If it still isn't clear on the 1972 Chevrolet C10, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. That's where I'd start. Time, temperature, and whether it's in gear are the notes that actually help a shop. A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Following up on long crank only after filling the fuel: still happening, but I have better notes now. I'll update if anything new shows up.
