2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 — costs that mattered more than fuel economy

TrackNerdCommunity StarterSep 3, 20262021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ 6.2Los Angeles
After owning the car for a while, tires, insurance and service pricing mattered more than the MPG difference I obsessed over before buying. What ownership costs surprised you most? I am in Los Angeles.

I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 before a big repair or a big spend. I'd do that before spending real money. This is from a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 in Los Angeles. Take it or leave it — that's what I'd do. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Write down what you already tried. A second data point from another 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. Then you'll know the next fork. Did the worksheet show tax yet? If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Don't overfit one forum story to your car. If it still isn't clear on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. That's where I'd start. This is from a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 in Los Angeles. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

I'd do that before spending real money. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Owner notes beat generic advice here. On the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 in Los Angeles, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. That's where I'd start. On “costs that mattered more than fuel economy,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

This is from a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 in Los Angeles. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

Useful. I'll report back after I verify that on my 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. This is the version I'd tell a friend.
