1988 Toyota Land Cruiser — no crank with full dash power, then it starts later — buyer question from Florida

Twice I have had full lights and accessories but no crank. After waiting a few minutes it starts normally. Battery terminals look clean. What would you want to measure during the actual failure? If I figure it out I will update the thread. What would you check next?

Ask what changed right before it started. Two 1988 Toyota Land Cruisers can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. If that fails I'll eat the diagnostic fee.
