2008 Honda Accord — check-engine light turned itself off — still scan it? — second opinion before I spend money

2008 Honda Accord EX-L, about 133,000 miles. The light was on for two days and then disappeared before I could schedule service. Car feels normal. Is there still likely to be useful stored or pending data if I scan it now?

If it were in my driveway, if a shop can't duplicate it on the 2008 Honda Accord, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. Save the big job until that test fails. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. Checking again after work.

Asking because it changes the advice: Two 2008 Honda Accords can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. Not gospel, but it saved me a headache. No warning lights, which is why I'm documenting it.

I hear you, though I'd still want a second check. Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2008 Honda Accord and see if the fault moves. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. On “check-engine light turned itself off — still,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Take it or leave it — that's what I'd do. Video is ugly but it shows the hesitation.

Not convinced that's the whole story. Capture voltage while the 2008 Honda Accord is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. This is from a 2008 Honda Accord in New York with 133,000 miles. Stop there until you know. If the story changes I'll post the new data.
