2008 Honda Accord — my model year is in a recall article but my VIN is not

2008 Honda Accord EX-L, about 130,000 miles. News says my model year is involved, but the VIN lookup shows no open recall. Is that usually because only certain build ranges are affected, or can the databases lag?

I'd want a measurement, not a hunch. Two 2008 Honda Accords can feel identical and have different causes, so measure before you copy someone else's repair. Save the big job until that test fails. Keep sale price, fees, and rate as three different conversations. I'd rather be boring and correct. Parking it somewhere I can hear it better next time.

Checked the easy stuff on the 2008 Honda Accord and found one clue worth chasing before I book a shop. Next check is the cheap one I can do in a driveway.

I went back under the 2008 Honda Accord and it only happens after a heat soak, not on a cold start. Only after sitting overnight so far.
