2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 — battery dies after the car sits for a weekend — Las Vegas owner

Battery passes a quick test and charging voltage looks normal, but after two or three days parked the car sometimes will not crank. What is the cleanest parasitic-draw test on a modern car that takes time to go to sleep? I would rather test this logically than replace parts.

Log the conditions before you spend. Write temp, speed, and in-gear vs coast when the 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 does it — then decide on parts. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. On “battery dies after the car sits for,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Was this after sitting overnight? Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

That's a good start, but I wouldn't stop there. Move a coil or plug on the 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 if it's cylinder-specific and see whether the code follows. Don't erase codes until someone who can help has seen them. This is from a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 in Las Vegas. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. If the story changes I'll post the new data.

Start with the test that can prove you wrong. Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and see if the fault moves. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. Was this after sitting overnight? Worth doing even if the car feels fine right now. Next check is the cheap one I can do in a driveway.

Yes, with one caveat: A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is losing coolant with no puddle. If the cheap test changes it, stop and reassess. Any freeze-frame data saved? I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.
