2016 Chevrolet Camaro — temperature climbs in traffic but drops once moving

OldSchoolNerdCommunity StarterMay 23, 20262016 Chevrolet Camaro SSPortland
2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS, about 153,500 miles. Coolant temperature rises while sitting with the A/C on, then drops once the car is moving. Coolant level looks correct. Fans run, but I do not know whether they are reaching full commanded speed.

I wouldn't throw parts yet. Swap the cheap/easy piece first on the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro and see if the fault moves. That's the branch I'd chase this week. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. I'll update if anything new shows up.

Ask what changed right before it started. A pressure test beats staring at a dry driveway if the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro is losing coolant with no puddle. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. I'd want that in writing, not as a promise. Make the next action something you can finish this week. Next check is the cheap one I can do in a driveway.

Checked the easy stuff on the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro and found one clue worth chasing before I book a shop. I'll poke at it this weekend.

OP update: scanned the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro again and still only have the one pending code, no new lights. Not driving it hard until I know more.

If it were in my driveway, capture voltage while the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro is actually failing — after it restarts you've lost the clue. You'll know quickly if you're on the wrong tree. This is from a 2016 Chevrolet Camaro in Portland with 153,500 miles. Did the worksheet show tax yet? If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Ask what changed right before it started. If a shop can't duplicate it on the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro, bring a video plus freeze-frame data, not just a story. Save the big job until that test fails. Time, temperature, and whether it's in gear are the notes that actually help a shop. A day of patience here is cheaper than a wrong part. I already checked the easy fluid levels.
