2017 Hyundai Elantra SE, about 123,500 miles. The advertised used-car price was competitive, but the worksheet includes protection packages, tracking equipment and other preinstalled items that were not obvious online. How do you compare the real OTD price across dealers?

Get the messy numbers in writing first. A written buyer’s order on the 2017 Hyundai Elantra is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” If they balk, that's your answer. On “advertised price jumps thousands at the desk,” that was the fork that mattered for me. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' I'd rather look cautious in this thread than stuck later.

If I were shopping this, in Philadelphia, insurance quotes flipped a 2017 Hyundai Elantra comparison for me more than the sale price did. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Stop there until you know. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. Ask for out-the-door on the 2017 Hyundai Elantra with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. Do that before you talk monthly again. That's the whole play. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

Quick update: a second 2017 Hyundai Elantra quote made the first offer look ordinary. I asked for the buyer’s order in email, not a text.

Asking because it changes the advice: In Philadelphia, insurance quotes flipped a 2017 Hyundai Elantra comparison for me more than the sale price did. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Stop there until you know. If the title is messy I'm out, full stop.

Walk if they won't put it on a buyer’s order. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2017 Hyundai Elantra and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Then the comparison gets honest. No need to make it theatrical. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Agree — and I'd add this: Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2017 Hyundai Elantra so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. If this is nothing, great. I want that in data.

OP here. Still looking, but I'm waiting on inspection notes before I send money on the 2017 Hyundai Elantra. Not letting add-ons ride along because everyone does.
