2017 Hyundai Elantra — buyer wants to pay with cashier check on a weekend — second opinion before I spend money

A buyer wants to meet Saturday when my bank is closed and use a cashier check. I am not accusing them of anything; I just want a payment method I can actually verify before signing over the car. I am in Las Vegas. If I figure it out I will update the thread.

I'd treat this like cash with a paper trail. Independent PPI on the 2017 Hyundai Elantra is cheap insurance versus a seller who “already had a friend look at it.” That's where I'd start. On “buyer wants to pay with cashier check,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Learned this the expensive way on a previous car. Wrote this up on my lunch break.

Private-party deals fail on paperwork, not vibes. If the 2017 Hyundai Elantra still shows a lien, coordinate payoff with the lender before any cash changes hands. I'd do that before spending real money. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. I'll update if anything new shows up.
