2017 Hyundai Elantra — how much reconditioning is worth doing before listing?

TireHauler985Community StarterMar 11, 20262017 Hyundai Elantra SEBoston
Car needs tires soon and has a few cosmetic issues. I am not sure whether spending money first will return more in the sale price. What repairs or detailing usually pay back and what should just be disclosed?

I'd treat this like cash with a paper trail. Meet at a bank or dealer title office for the 2017 Hyundai Elantra, not a parking lot at night. Then you'll know the next fork. On “how much reconditioning is worth doing before,” that was the fork that mattered for me. When does it actually happen? If they get vague again I'm shopping the deal elsewhere.

Private-party deals fail on paperwork, not vibes. Independent PPI on the 2017 Hyundai Elantra is cheap insurance versus a seller who “already had a friend look at it.” Then you'll know the next fork. Just my two cents from doing this recently. Going to compare one more dealer before I decide.

Agree — and I'd add this: A rushed deposit before you can inspect the 2017 Hyundai Elantra is enough reason to walk. Then you'll know the next fork. On “how much reconditioning is worth doing before,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Time, temperature, and whether it's in gear are the notes that actually help a shop. That's my plan before I call anyone.

I'd push back a little: Bill of sale, VIN, odometer, and names matching the title — I'd want all four on the 2017 Hyundai Elantra. Then you'll know the next fork. Verbal 'we'll take care of it' is not a plan. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. If the title is messy I'm out, full stop.

Title status is the whole conversation. Meet at a bank or dealer title office for the 2017 Hyundai Elantra, not a parking lot at night. I'd do that before spending real money. This is from a 2017 Hyundai Elantra in Boston. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. PPI guy I use is booked until next week, so I'm waiting.
