2017 Hyundai Elantra — water spots keep coming back after correction

2017 Hyundai Elantra SE, about 55,500 miles. Paint looked perfect after polishing, but water spotting returns after outdoor washes. I do not want to keep removing clear coat. What process change would you make first? I am in California. What would you check next?

Useful. I'll report back after I verify that on my 2017 Hyundai Elantra. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

I'd keep this practical. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2017 Hyundai Elantra before a big repair or a big spend. Then you'll know the next fork. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Quick add on that: A second data point from another 2017 Hyundai Elantra owner helps more than a generic diagnosis. That's where I'd start. Take it or leave it — that's what I'd do. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

Don't overfit one forum story to your car. If it still isn't clear on the 2017 Hyundai Elantra, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. Then you'll know the next fork. Owner notes beat generic advice here. On the 2017 Hyundai Elantra in California, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. I'd do that before spending real money. On “water spots keep coming back after correction,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Write the result down so the next test isn't a repeat of the last one. That's my plan before I call anyone.
