Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. A written buyer’s order on the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. On “two nearly identical cars are priced $4k,” that was the fork that mattered for me. A shop burned me once by skipping that step. If your situation is the opposite, ignore me. If GAP is bundled I'm making them unbundle it.

Insurance and tax belong in the comparison, not as a surprise. Call your insurer in California before you fall in love with the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Do that before you talk monthly again. On “two nearly identical cars are priced $4k,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Do that first. Climate here is different, so treat that as a local data point. I screenshotted the quote for later.

Not convinced that's the whole story. If one piece looks too good on the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee, hunt doc fees, accessories, and the APR next. Then the comparison gets honest. Had a similar mess a couple years ago and that's what finally sorted it. I'm in no rush to be a hero on it.

I'd slow the salesperson down here. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee price probably got worse. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. Not wiring anything in the meantime.

If I were shopping this, i would not wire money until I've seen the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. That's the part that actually changes the decision. Time, temperature, and whether it's in gear are the notes that actually help a shop. Worth doing even if the car feels fine right now. Doc fee is the line I'm watching.

Treat this like a math problem, not a vibe. Call your insurer in California before you fall in love with the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I'd rather lose the car than buy a foggy deal. Do that first. PPI guy I use is booked until next week, so I'm waiting.

Update from me: I finally have sale price, fees, and trade on separate lines for the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I'll post OTD once I have two apples-to-apples sheets.

Don't send a deposit on a phone quote. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee price probably got worse. Then the comparison gets honest. If you share a photo of the worksheet, easier to sanity-check. Calling insurance in the morning before I reply to the desk.

Compare apples to apples or you'll get spun. A written buyer’s order on the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” If they balk, that's your answer. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. Not trying to scare you — just skip the expensive first guess. This is the version I'd tell a friend.

This is from a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee in California. Run the total, not the monthly, before you commit. That's coming from doing this as an owner, not a shop. That's a good start, but I wouldn't stop there. I would not wire money until I've seen the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the title situation in person or via a trusted PPI. Screenshot the worksheet if you can. Was this after sitting overnight? Doc fee is the line I'm watching.

Yes, with one caveat: A written buyer’s order on the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” Do that before you talk monthly again. Happy to compare notes if your setup is different. Sleeping on the number either way.

Not convinced that's the whole story. If they're pushing term length to shrink the payment, the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee price probably got worse. Then the comparison gets honest. Just my two cents from doing this recently. If they only talk monthly I'm walking.

Walk if they won't put it on a buyer’s order. In California, insurance quotes flipped a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee comparison for me more than the sale price did. Then the comparison gets honest. I'd want a dollar figure or a measured spec, not 'should be fine.' Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Same neighborhood, different next step: Ask for out-the-door on the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee with fees, add-ons, and rate on separate lines. If they balk, that's your answer. When does it actually happen? I'd sleep better after that step, even if it finds nothing. Sleeping on the number either way.

I asked for the buyer’s order in email, not a text.

Quick add on that: Keep sale price, trade, and financing split on the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee so a “good payment” cannot bury a worse deal. If they balk, that's your answer. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. Going to re-read the worksheet tonight.

Hard-won lesson from my last deal: GAP, paint, and nitrogen are optional until you run the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee numbers without them. If they balk, that's your answer. I'd push back a little: In California, insurance quotes flipped a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee comparison for me more than the sale price did. Then the comparison gets honest. No need to make it theatrical. I've seen both outcomes, which is why I'd test instead of assume. I'll update if anything new shows up.

Agree — and I'd add this: A written buyer’s order on the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee is worth more than any verbal “we’ll make it work.” Do that before you talk monthly again. On “two nearly identical cars are priced $4k,” that was the fork that mattered for me. If they can't show the line item, I assume it's hiding. If they get vague again I'm shopping the deal elsewhere.

If it doesn't change the out-the-door or the repair estimate, it's noise. Your commute and mine probably aren't the same, but the test still applies. Not letting add-ons ride along because everyone does.
