2018 BMW 340i — engine fits but driveline angle is not ideal

2018 BMW 340i xDrive, about 49,500 miles. Mock-up clears the steering and firewall, but getting the transmission output lined up perfectly would require moving the engine. How much should packaging be compromised to improve driveline geometry? Mostly looking for the right next step.

Don't overfit one forum story to your car. If it still isn't clear on the 2018 BMW 340i, a specialist hour can be cheaper than another round of parts. That's where I'd start. This is from a 2018 BMW 340i in NYC with 49,500 miles. No need to make it theatrical. I'm keeping receipts and dates in one folder.

That's a good start, but I wouldn't stop there. Verify the cheap/easy branch on the 2018 BMW 340i before a big repair or a big spend. Then you'll know the next fork. No need to make it theatrical. Doing the boring step first on purpose.

Owner notes beat generic advice here. On the 2018 BMW 340i in NYC, I'd fix the thing you'll notice every day before chasing spec-sheet extras. Then you'll know the next fork. On “engine fits but driveline angle is not,” that was the fork that mattered for me. Post the numbers (or the code) and people can get more specific. Wrote this up on my lunch break.
